Mother's Day Shadow Box Gifts

Grandma always loves photos of her grandsons. I had this shadow box frame in a stash of supplies I need to use up.... Then added a bit of detail with a wire word hanger and button covered thumbtack. I wasn't sure what to do with the frame as far as painting it or covering it with paper.... once I added the layout inside of the frame I decided it looked fine in it's natural wood state. A few buttons to tie in with the tack added just the right finishing touch.

Christmas ornament I made for each of my boys... the inside accordian style - I added photos of special events that happened throughout the year
the backside I wrote a note to each of them about their accomplishments and how proud I am of them...

September is my new beginning month... I am going to try my hardest to keep up with a family journal each month. Here is September.... I've addes tons of photos - these two are my favs from a hot september day in the back yard. The last day of water fun.
